This typically includes multiple BU rollouts that covers complex data conversions , re-structuring inventory organizations , and Oracle iProcurement implementations, etc. The prominent modules are Inventory , OM , and purchasing, including procurement, WIP , BOM , and OSFM.

Business Requirements

The business requirement was to implement three new operating units under two ledgers.

Business Needs Summarised:-

  • Buy wafer, OSP process until Color Filter, intercompany sell to OVT Singapore.
  • Two inventory organizations, TWN and OSC (OSC to complete jobs under OSC inventory org.).
  • Enable all existing Oracle Shop Floor Management (OSFM) customizations and reports available in OV Singapore.

Business Challenges

OmniVision

With multi-currency being a new functionality, users did not know what to expect. Thus, getting precise, concise requirements for the reports was a challenge. This resulted in going back and forth multiple times with additional rework due to changes in requirements. Customization/development to support multiple currencies (specifically RMB) was a significant ask.

The business had its OSFM process set in the existing operating units. A similar master data, i.e., Items, BOM , Resources , Standard Operations, and Network routing, was expected for China-based operating units. In addition to
